Overview

Groups can be generated directly from the Property tree in an automated way, making group creation faster and more efficient.
There are two main methods:

  1. Save to Groups – Creates a separate group for each available value of a selected property.

  2. Save Selected to Groups – Creates groups only for the selected values.

About the Created Groups

  • Groups created via the Property tree consist of an exact search for the chosen property value.

  • These groups can later be used to create Bookmarks with colour-coded objects.

  • Colour-coding makes it easy to spot and compare differences between elements, e.g. variations in MMI or weight.

1. Open the Property Tree

  1. Navigate to Files and Attributes.

  2. Open the Property tree.

  3. Select the property set you want to use.

    • Example: K_Mengder A41_Netto vekt

You will now see a list of all available property values.

2. Method 1 – Save to Groups

Use this method when you want groups for all property values.

  1. In the Property tree, click Save to Groups.

  2. Novorender will create a new sub-collection named after the selected property and value.

  3. Each value will appear as a separate group within this sub-collection.

3. Method 2 – Save Selected to Groups

Use this method when you only need specific values, especially if the property has a long list.

  1. Select the relevant property values from the list.

    • Example: 0.8, 1.2, and 1.7.

  2. Click Save Selected to Groups.

  3. Choose whether to:

    • Select existing collection – Select from the drop-down list.

    • Enter collection name – Enter a name manually and create a new collection

  4. Click Save.

4. Adding Groups to a new collection

  1. Select the relevant property values from the list.

  2. Click Save Selected to Groups.

  3. Choose - Enter collection name

  4. Enter the name of the new collection

  5. Click Save.

5. Adding More Groups to an Existing Collection

  1. Select the relevant property values from the list

  2. Click Save Selected to Groups.

  3. Click Select existing collection

  4. From the drop-down list, select the target collection.

  5. Click Save – the groups will be added under that collection.

6. IMPORTANT - remember to SAVE groups

Save groups in the GROUPS widget to avoid losing progress.
