Bookmarks are a useful tool for navigating complex 3D models. With bookmarks, you can quickly jump to predefined areas, such as viewpoints and object groups, and view associated data like measurements and clippings.
Bookmarks also enhance the properties view by showing only relevant items. Using bookmarks can improve your workflow, save time, and increase productivity.
We will cover things such as
Creating Bookmarks
Personal vs private bookmarks
Using Groups together with Bookmarks
Creating Collections of bookmarks
Sharing, deleting and updating

Bookmarks is a powerful tool that allows you to save the view state and everything you've done, enabling you to share it with others or save it for personal use.

Imagine you created an area measurement and want to save it or share it. Open the bookmark widget and start by adding a bookmark. You can give it a title—I'll call this one "Area Test."
0:21
You can also provide a description and add the bookmark to a collection. I'll create a test collection and add it as public, which means everyone in the project will be able to see it. If I leave it private, only I will have access.

After adding the bookmark, you’ll see the collection you created, which organizes bookmarks into folders. You can create multiple folders and even subcategories for better organization.

Navigating away from your view is fine because you can always return to it by clicking the bookmark, restoring it exactly as it was when saved.
1:34
To ensure the bookmark is saved, always click "Save." If you refresh the browser without saving, the bookmark will be lost.
1:46
You can do more with bookmarks, like ungrouping sections or renaming them. For example, I'll rename "Test Collections" to "Measurements Test" and save it. The name will update immediately.

Bookmarks can also be shared. Clicking "Share" copies a link that others can open in their browser. You can update details, like the title, description, and any changes you make to the view, by saving or updating the bookmark.
2:34
If you've made changes and want the bookmark to reflect them, click "Update," and it will save the new view.
2:49
If you no longer need a bookmark, you can delete it. When prompted, confirm the deletion, and the bookmark will be removed.
2:57
You can filter bookmarks based on measurement types or other attributes. Test these filters to find specific bookmarks efficiently.
3:24
Bookmarks can be combined with groups for added functionality. For example, if you're looking at items with a specific status in a group, you can create a bookmark for that view.
3:58
Add a bookmark titled "Groups," provide a description, and add it to a public collection. Now, this bookmark reflects the selected group’s view.
4:15
If you return to the main overview and click the bookmark for the group, it will update to display the specific group selection with its settings and colors.
4:43
You can also edit the bookmark to add items to the selection basket. Save it, go back to the home view, and when you click the bookmark, it will restore the selection, ready to work with further.
