The 2D Widget in Novorender allows you to view and interact with your project in a top-down 2D orthographic mode.
It provides tools for cross-sections, measurements, and visualization adjustments, making it easier to analyze project details from a flat perspective.
1. Accessing the 2D Widget
Open the 2D Widget from the interface.
Click the 2D button to activate top-down mode.
Use the available options to customize your 2D view.
2. Rendering Options
2.1 Terrain as Background
On: Models below the terrain surface are visible.
Off: Models below the terrain surface are hidden.
2.2 Top-Down View
Creates a 2D orthographic projection of the entire project.
Useful for site-wide navigation, analysis, and plan-view inspections.
3. Grid and Background
Grid: Displays a measurement grid overlay.
Background Color: Customize the 2D background color for clarity or presentation purposes.
4. Cross-Sections
Create a cross-section by selecting two points with the cursor.
An arrow shows the direction of view.
The Cross section widget will open once the cross section is made.
5. Switching Between 2D and 3D
Deactivate 2D Mode: Click the 2D button to return to 3D view.
Re-activate 2D Mode: Click the 2D button again.
