Measure an area in square meters

To get the exact area in square meters, use the measurement tool in Novorender. You can select any polygonal area in your model and the tool will give you the precise measurement. This feature can be useful for calculating all kind of surfaces in your model.

Imagine you want to create this construction in concrete and need to know the area of a specific piece.

You can click on Measurements and select Area. You'll see that you can snap to the points, allowing you to easily measure the exact area.

For this particular object, you can see it measures 1.2 square meters. You can even open the widget, and it will display the same value.

This allows you to determine the surface area of the item. You can also enable clipping and switch to 2D mode to perform the same measurement.

I'm going to open the widget and glue it to this clipping. As you can see, I can enable this feature.

Turn the clipping off and remove it. By switching to area measurements in 2D mode, you can snap to the points again and perform the same measurement. This works for all items with snap points.

In the Iria widget, you can do additional tasks, such as undoing the latest snapped point if you want to correct a mistake.

You can also add new points, save your current work, or start a new measurement. For instance, you can create multiple measurements.

You can turn off selection to prevent selecting area measurements. Additionally, you can clear the latest measurement, clear all measurements, or completely disable the tool.
