Zoning plan map layer added by default
Zoning plan (Reguleringsplaner) data is now included in the default WMS layer list, alongside the FKB and matrikkel layers. Norwegian projects can overlay official zoning information without configuring the source themselves.

DGN solid geometry support
DGN files containing solids built from planes and cylinders now convert with that geometry included. Scale is read from the file itself, and object identifiers that were previously missing are now carried through.

Fewer models fail to convert
Several crashes that could stop a model part-way through conversion are fixed, including rotated assets in federated models, objects carrying unusually large numbers of property sets, scenes containing a single point, and specific DWG and IFC geometry. Models that previously failed to build now complete.

More complete geometry from IFC, DWG and DGN files
Cases where parts of a model were dropped without explanation are fixed: circular posts in IFC products that mix profile types, geometry on switched-off DWG layers, drawings saved without units, and surfaces with no material assigned, which previously appeared invisible. DWG files containing Civil 3D objects now report a clear warning instead of dropping that content silently.

More accurate object names and properties
Names containing a forward slash now display correctly instead of showing an escape code. Repeated properties are no longer listed several times, properties held on merged sub-parts are kept, and Revit phase information now includes the same Id that Navisworks shows. Property links from CSV files now work when the file is tab-separated or its name contains Norwegian characters.

More accurate areas and surface selection
Areas on faces with holes or split surfaces are now reported correctly, where they could previously read about twice their real size. Connected paving surfaces are selected as a single face rather than several fragments, and measurements on Revit models using shared coordinates now line up with the model as displayed.

Usable detail levels in large point clouds
Large point clouds now offer a gradual range of detail while navigating, instead of jumping between full detail and a very coarse view, and report their accuracy more realistically.

Deviation analysis completes on large scenes
Point-to-triangle deviation calculations on large scenes, which could previously run for days without finishing, now complete in a predictable time and use less memory.

More reliable Omega data
Omega data is now read from the vendor's streaming endpoint and kept in cache for longer, which reduces load failures and repeated fetching.

Security and dependency updates
Novorender Projects received a broad round of dependency and security updates, including the components behind sign-in.

Deviation profiles keep their centerline
Reprocessing a model could leave deviation profiles without their centerline, because centerlines were stored against geometry references that changed. They are now stored against a stable object reference and resolved when the profile loads.

DWG objects sit at their real elevation
Objects in some DWG drawings were placed close to zero elevation instead of the elevation set in the source drawing.

Folders without conversion rules are no longer marked as modified
A folder whose rule set was empty was flagged as modified even though nothing about it had changed.

Support updates show “Novorender Support”
Resources updated by the Novorender team listed an internal account as the last editor. They now show “Novorender Support”.

Filtered models load every matching object
Parts of a model could stay missing while a filter was applied, because processing under-reported which objects a section of the model contained.

ZIP archives with images or nested output process correctly
ZIP archives containing only images, or parser output inside nested folders, could fail during processing instead of completing.

Scene framing ignores terrain and PDF extents
The extent used to frame a scene included terrain and PDF sheets reaching far beyond the model itself.

Surface measurements snap reliably on all models
The Measure tool can now snap to surfaces accurately across all model types. Previously, hovering a surface in certain models returned no snap point, making it impossible to take measurements.

Complex geometry in large models loads correctly
Models containing large triangle meshes or complex geometry distributions are now processed and displayed more reliably. Previously, some geometry could be dropped or missing in dense models.

Measurements no longer break after loading an outdated bookmark
Opening a bookmark that contained measurement data from an earlier version of the model could break all subsequent measurements in the session. The session now recovers correctly when a bookmarked measurement references geometry that no longer exists.

Deviation profiles switch correctly
Switching between deviation profiles in the widget was not updating the view — the previous profile remained visible. Deviation profiles now switch as expected.

IFC door and window openings now display correctly
Openings in IFC files were rendering as solid geometry instead of transparent cutouts. Doors and window openings now display as expected.

Advanced SharePoint authentication settings now save
Saving advanced SharePoint authentication on a project with an existing CDE connection was silently failing. The settings now save as expected.

Adding objects to a Forms template no longer refreshes the page
Selecting objects to add to a Forms template was triggering a full-page reload, interrupting the workflow. Objects can now be added without a page refresh.

Model tree highlights selections from the 3D view correctly
Objects selected in a widget while the 3D view was active were not being reflected in the model tree. The model tree now correctly highlights the selected objects.

DWG files now display Mass Elements and Mass Groups
AEC Mass Elements and Mass Groups — geometry types common in architectural DWG files — were previously not appearing in Novorender even though they displayed correctly in AutoCAD and Trimble Connect. These geometry types are now fully rendered.

Creating groups from the model tree no longer crashes with large selections
When selecting a large number of objects and using "Save to groups" from the model tree, the operation could crash. Groups can now be created from any selection size. The collections list is also automatically filled in when creating groups this way.

Object deletion rules now take effect
Deleting objects using object rules had no effect — the targeted objects were not removed from the scene. Deletion rules now work as expected.

Folder sync no longer misses files
In some cases, a synced folder would appear to be missing a file that was present in the source. Folder sync now correctly reflects all files.

IFC walls now display correctly with window cut-outs and accurate colors
Some IFC files were displaying walls with missing window openings and incorrect colors. Both issues are now resolved and walls render with the correct geometry and appearance.

Jira widget shows field type labels
The Jira widget now displays the Field Type label for Jira issues, giving you better context when reviewing Jira items linked to your model.

Signing out now ends your Microsoft session too
Signing out of Novorender now also terminates your Microsoft Entra browser session. Previously, only the Novorender session was cleared, which meant permission or role changes were not reflected until you manually signed out of Microsoft. A full sign-out now happens in one step.

NWD models now navigate to the correct nested file
When a model tree shows file-level navigation for NWD files that contain nested sub-files, clicking a nested file now correctly selects that specific file. Previously, file-level navigation always jumped to the root NWD.

Offline mode is fully controllable again
Standalone offline downloads are fully functional: you can pause full-sync downloads, and deleting a cached model no longer forces an incremental sync. Error messages when connection problems occur are also clearer and more specific.

IFC models placed at correct coordinates
IFC files that use different coordinate reference system (CRS) and rendering scales now place geometry at the correct location. Previously, models using both transformations could appear at the wrong position in the viewer.

Project list sorts correctly by last updated
Projects now appear in the correct order when sorted by last updated. The sort was inconsistent when multiple projects were updated around the same time.

Active revision clearly marked in Projects
The revision indicator in Projects now shows which version is currently loaded in the scene, replacing the previous "current" badge that always pointed to the latest revision. This makes it immediately clear which revision you are viewing when multiple versions exist.

Norwegian map layers added by default
FKB and matrikkel map layers from Kartverket are now included in the default WMS list. Norwegian projects can now access these official mapping sources without needing to configure them manually.

More accurate area measurements
The geometry engine now calculates area individually per split face, improving the accuracy of area measurements — especially for complex objects with multiple surfaces.

Deviation comparison colors are more distinct
The default colors for the "New" and "Unchanged" statuses in deviation comparisons have been updated to be easier to tell apart at a glance.

Model tree folder checkboxes stay consistent when expanded
Fully-selected folders no longer flip from checked to indeterminate when expanded. The folder state now correctly reflects the full descendant count even while children are still loading.

Clipping plane bar is stable again
The clipping plane slider was jumpy and unreliable in models that do not contain point clouds. The slider now behaves predictably across all model types.

IFC models with openings now display correctly
Certain IFC geometry involving manual extrusions near openings was failing to parse and appeared missing. These elements now display as expected.

File version changes and downloads work for all users with correct permissions
Changing a file's active revision or downloading it could fail for users who had the proper permissions in some configurations. Permission checks now work as expected.

2D mode transitions work correctly
Switching to 2D orthographic mode could fail or behave unexpectedly in some cases. The 2D button now works reliably and the transition no longer breaks the view.

Models can be turned back on after being hidden
Turning off a model in the model tree and then turning it back on could fail, leaving the model invisible. Models can now be toggled on and off reliably.

Rules are visible again
Visibility rules were not showing up for some users. Rules now display correctly.

"Fly on select" no longer switches from 2D to 3D unexpectedly
When using "Fly on select" from the selection basket in 2D mode, the view was incorrectly switching to 3D. It now stays in the current mode.

Bookmarks survive model rebuilds
Bookmarks now correctly restore your saved views even after a model has been rebuilt or reprocessed. Previously, a model rebuild could cause bookmarks to lose track of the objects they referenced. Your saved views are now reliable across model updates.

Get notified when files fail to process
A new Alerts tab in your projects lets project admins subscribe email addresses to a daily digest of files that have failed or got stuck during processing. You can also see a live snapshot of current failures directly in the tab — including the file type, folder path, and a link to navigate straight to it.

Offline mode won't fill up your storage
Incremental offline caching now stays within automatic storage limits, so it won't unexpectedly use up space on your device. You can see how much offline storage is currently in use directly in the offline panel.

More IFC geometry types now supported
IFC models using extrusion profiles defined by indexed polylines are now correctly processed and displayed. Architectural elements that previously failed to appear in these models will now show up as expected.

Rotation transforms display correctly
Files with a rotation transform applied were sometimes displayed with the wrong orientation in the viewer. Rotations now apply as expected.

IFC models now import with correct geometry
Some IFC models were missing walls or other geometry, and the same content exported as IFC 2x3 vs IFC 4x3 could appear at inconsistent heights. Both issues are now resolved.

Synced files can be managed independently across projects
Deleting a synced file from one project could prevent it from being synced to other projects. Files can now be removed from one project without affecting sync in others.

CSV export works for large selections
Exporting objects to CSV from the selection basket failed when the selection contained a large number of objects. Large exports now complete successfully.

DWG files display correct colors
DWG files containing geometry with multiple materials were displaying incorrect colors. Objects now appear with the correct colors from the original file.

Omega properties load reliably
Property data in Omega-integrated projects could fail to load in some cases. Properties now load reliably regardless of how the project's property cache was originally created.

Better layout on iPhone
Explorer and Projects now adjust correctly to smaller phone screens. Navigation bars that previously overflowed or didn't fit on screen are now scrollable sideways, making it easier to use Novorender on mobile phones.

Bookmarks now remember your highlights
Bookmarks now save and restore all your highlighted object groups — including clash results, form highlights, and transparent selections. When you return to a bookmark, your view looks exactly as you left it.

More reliable object highlighting with frozen groups
Frozen highlight groups now stay visible as intended, without being accidentally overridden by other filters. This makes working with frozen objects and visibility filters more predictable.

Fixed: In offline mode, cached model files could be deleted on startup even when they were still needed, causing data to be unavailable. Models now stay cached reliably.

Fixed: Measurements on mobile devices were not working correctly when using a touchscreen-only device. Touch and desktop input are now handled separately so measurements work on all devices.

Fixed: Clicking a different segment of an alignment required two clicks to navigate — the first click only zoomed to an overview. It now jumps directly to the correct station in a single click.

Fixed: When switching between deviation profiles that use different center lines, the parameter range from the previous alignment could carry over and produce incorrect results. Switching profiles now correctly resets to the new alignment.

Exclude descendants when selecting all search results
When using "Select All" from a search result, you can now choose to exclude child objects. This is useful when you want to target specific components without also selecting all the nested items below them in the model hierarchy.

Measure labels always visible
Measurement labels and intermediate points are now always displayed regardless of zoom level. Dots on line segments reduce ambiguity when measuring long, nearly-straight elements — making it clear where the measurement starts and ends.

Property tree: value limit message
When a property filter returns more than 10,000 values, the property tree now shows a clear message indicating the list has been capped. Previously, the truncation happened silently.

Omega property parsing
Properties containing a % character are now correctly interpreted for Omega integrations — only the portion before the % is used in queries, matching Omega's expected format.

Weak device troubleshooting link updated
The link shown in the low-performance warning message now points to the correct and up-to-date troubleshooting guide.

Fixed: Bookmarks no longer carry over property tree selections from a previous view — loading a bookmark without a property tree now correctly resets the state

Bookmark visibility control for selection basket
When opening a bookmark that uses "Add to selection basket," you can now choose how objects appear: transparent, semi-transparent, or their original state. Previously, objects always appeared fully transparent. This gives you more control over how your model looks when reviewing saved views.

Select any line in the viewer
The line-picking tool now works without requiring a predefined alignment. You can select any line geometry directly in the model — roads, pipes, structural edges — making it faster to work with linear elements without prior setup.

Double-sided rendering with clipping planes
When a section cut slices through a model, the exposed interior surfaces now render correctly on both sides. This eliminates invisible backfaces and gives a cleaner, more accurate cross-section view.

Measure tool: area now visible in main view
Area calculations are now displayed directly in the 3D view when measuring surfaces, including complex polygon objects. Previously, area was only shown inside the Measure widget.

Point line tool: loading indicator
The point line tool now shows a loading indicator while geometry is being processed, so you know when it's ready rather than seeing a blank or unresponsive tool.

Autofreeze enabled by default
Autofreeze is now on by default for all projects. Objects hidden for more than 10 seconds are automatically frozen, freeing up GPU resources and improving performance — especially on lower-end hardware.

Jira widget improvements
Fixed an issue where the Jira settings page would reappear unexpectedly, requiring users to re-configure their project. The widget now correctly remembers its settings between sessions.

Auto-generated measurements enabled for all projects
Auto-generated measurements (formerly Generated parametric data) are now enabled by default for all existing projects. No setup is required, and measurements and snapping now work more consistently out of the box. The feature is clearly scoped to the Measure widget, making its purpose easier to understand.

Increased property limit
The property limit in the Properties panel has been increased from 200 to 1000. Large and complex models can now expose significantly more data without truncation.

Horizontal Alignment / Follow Path re-enabled
Pick Entity has been re-enabled in Horizontal Alignment, the feature that used to be in Follow Path. The feature works in both 2D and 3D modes, and let the user select a line to follow, and create a clipping plane in the current position of the line.

Measurement reliability
Fixed width and height calculations for rectangular objects in the Measure widget, improving accuracy and consistency.

General usability and workflow
Detection of new project versions is now faster, reducing the need for manual refresh and minimizing confusion.

The new processing pipeline has now been rolled out more broadly, providing improved performance and scalability across projects.

Auto-Freeze Setting in User Widget
A new auto-freeze setting has been added to the user widget.
With this enabled, any objects that remain hidden for more than 10 seconds will automatically be frozen, freeing up resources and improving model performance.
This is especially beneficial for lower-end hardware and helps models display details more quickly and smoothly.

CDE Sync Improvements
CDE sync has been updated to improve stability and introduce a simpler, more intuitive user interface when syncing files. These changes aim to reduce errors and make the syncing process easier to understand and manage.

Hide or Freeze Groups in Existing Bookmarks
When creating new groups, you can now choose to hide or freeze the group across all existing bookmarks. This is useful when creating a Group that should be hidden in all existing Bookmarks.
If this option is not selected, the group will remain visible in all bookmarks by default.

Processing Pipeline Rollout (Partial)
The new processing pipeline continues to be rolled out to additional projects as part of the phased deployment.

A new user widget setting allows users to adjust model performance presets to better match the capabilities of their device, whether on PC, iPad/tablet, or mobile. This makes it easier to balance visual fidelity and performance based on available hardware.

Property Tree Enhancements: A "Show More button" has been added to the Property tree for cases with more than 400 property values, alongside a new "Save selected to groups" menu option.

Left-click + drag: Click the left mouse button and drag the cursor up or down across the screen to rotate the camera.

Scroll: Press the scroll button on your mouse and scroll up or down to move the camera forward or backward.

Middle-click + drag: Press the middle click button on your mouse to move the camera perpendicularly.

Middle-click + drag: Elevator. When you push down, it navigates down. Push up goes up, right goes right and left goes left.

Left-click on an object: Click on an object with the left mouse button and drag the cursor left or right to rotate the camera around the click point.

Left-click on an empty space: we rotate either around the last pivot point or around the viewer if there’s no last pivot point or it’s too far.

Middle-click + drag: Press the middle click button on your mouse to move the camera perpendicularly around an object.

right-click + drag: Click the right mouse button and drag the cursor up or down across the screen to rotate the camera.

Step forward button moves: The Step forward button moves to the 3-dot-menu.

Controller selection button takes its place: The Controller selection button takes the place of the moved Step forward button.

Cursor changes in no pointer lock mode: The cursor changes when moving the camera with the mouse in no pointer lock mode.

Orbit center in no pointer lock mode: The Orbit center is shown as a point in no pointer lock mode.
