The Height Profile Tool in Novorender provides detailed information about the vertical alignment of models such as pipes, roads, railways and other linear elements.
It helps you analyze elevation, slope, and segment details along the length of an object or multiple connected objects.

1. Accessing the Height Profile

  1. Click Clipping from the interface.

  2. Select Height Profile.

2. Selecting Entities

  • Click Entity to choose the model you want to analyze.

  • Example: Select a pipe or alignment line.

  • Once selected, the tool displays:

    • Elevation in start and end of the alignment or models

    • Minimum and maximum elevation

3. Measurement Options

You can configure how the height profile is measured:

  • From Center (default for cylinders).

  • From Outer Top (measurements from the top of the object).

  • From Inner Bottom (measurements from the lowest interior point).

4. Viewing the Height Profile

  • Click Show to open the height profile visualization.

  • The profile displays:

    • Elevation curve (vertical axis).

    • Horizontal length (horizontal axis).

    • Slope (gradient along the line).

Interactive Features

  • Hovering over the profile shows precise elevation and length at that point.

  • This provides accurate insight into elevation changes along the selected model.

5. Multiple Selection

  • Use Multiple Select to analyze several connected elements at once.

  • Example: Select two or more pipe segments.

  • When shown in the height profile, the system displays each segment in sequence, giving you a continuous overview of the combined alignment.

6. Clearing the Profile

  • When finished, click Clear to remove the current height profile visualization and reset the tool.
