The Global Search Tool in Novorender allows you to quickly find models, objects, settings, widgets, groups, bookmarks, and more from one central search bar.
It is the fastest way to navigate large projects and access tools without browsing menus manually.
1. Accessing Global Search
You can open Global Search in two ways:
Click the Global Search icon in the interface.
Use the hotkey CTRL + K for instant access.
2. Searching for Widgets and Settings
2.1 Widgets
Type the name of a widget (e.g., Properties).
The widget will appear in the results.
Select it to open directly without navigating menus.
2.2 Settings
Type a keyword related to a setting (e.g., Points).
All relevant settings for points will be listed.
Selecting one jumps directly into that setting, even if it is inside Advanced Settings.
3. Searching for Models and Objects
3.1 Models
Enter the model name (copy/paste if needed).
The model will appear in the results.
Selecting it will open the model directly in the viewer.
3.2 Objects
Search for an object name or identifier.
The object is highlighted in the model view when selected.
4. Search Filters
Global Search allows you to specify the type of result you are looking for. You can filter by:
Widgets
Groups
Bookmarks
Objects
Deviation
Settings
This makes it easier to narrow down results and find exactly what you need.
5. Example Workflows
Open Properties Widget Quickly: Type properties → open widget instantly.
Find Point Settings: Type points → jump directly to advanced settings for point configuration.
Locate a Model: Paste model name → select → model loads in the viewer.
Search Bookmarks: Type bookmark name → instantly navigate to the saved view.
