In the video below I will show you how to create rules based on the scenarios of - -

  • Common: An open ruleset alowing you to do a lot of options

    • Property: Add property based on criterias

    • Merge: Merge elements, such as parent/child

    • Generature GUID: for elements not containing GUIDs, you can generate them!

    • Replace: Replace objects. Only applies to the object filter.

    • Regenerate Parametric data: If you want to use our strong parametric measurement tools, but the data you have imported isnt parametric. Then you have the option for Novorender to generate that Parametric data for you!

  • Delete objects: Search for items that you would like to delete

  • Double-sided material: Many surfaces have a definition of what is outside and inside/top and bottom, for example terrain surfaces. In Novorender we have turned off inside/bottom by default because it is usually not interesting information and for some devices it might steal some of the performance. With the Double Sided Material ruleset you turn on inside/underside.

  • Search and Replace: Search for items that you would like to replace. Like you do in Word and other tools. Applies for the entire project.

  • CSV properties: Add properties using CSV.

    • What happens when I match property A in the CSV file against property 1 in Projects?
The remaining items in that row will be added to properties in Novorender.

    • And what happens if property 1 contains values in the field you are trying to add?
Imported CSV properties will overwrite Novorender properties of the same name.

    • Can I match multiple properties from the CSV file against multiple properties in Projects in the same rule set?
Currently, we only support one key, and it should be unique.

    • Remember to

      • Add the file in the folder where you create the Rule

      • Match corresponding attributes in the CSV with attributes in the model (GUID or others)
